The Process of a Commissioned Work

Most of the Panoramic Works you see on my site are my personal favorite locations and places where I spend my time.  However, I also create personal panoramic portraits of your home, office, or favorite place.  If you are interested in owning an original one-of-a-kind artwork that will document your favorite place in great detail, let's get started.  Below, the process is outlined and simplified with examples of how a work comes to life.  I can incorporate you or your family and pets into the work, or simply document your favorite room or public space.  This is what I love to do!

1)  To begin, I start by taking a series of photographs in the room (generally approximately 40-50 photos).  These will become the foundation of the piece.  Typically I use a 6.3mp Canon Digital SLR for excellent quality and flexibility in later stages.

2)  After printing the photos, they are carefully arranged on a canvas.  The photos are cut and trimmed as needed to bring out the strongest parts of the photos.

3)  The photos are attached to the canvas using an archival & clear drying adhesive that does not compromise the integrity of the photo paper.   Generally a 48"w x 24"h canvas is a good size for rooms, however 60"w x 36"h or larger can be used as well.  Recently, I have even been using canvasses as small as 20 x 16" with very good results.

4)   Next, the painting begins.  Typically I use acrylics to block in larger areas combined with a variety of mediums in order to achieve the desired textures.  Detail is gradually worked in and eventually oil and other mixed media take on a dominant role in finishing touches.

5)  After the painting is fine tuned, it is signed and titled.  The painting is allowed to dry.  A personal letter of authenticity and side note to the new owner is provided with the painting.  The work is then prepped for display on your wall.

The end result is a unique combination of photography and painting with a dramatic composition and a very real sense of space.  You will be pleased at the way the entire essence of a space can be captured with this technique that I have developed.

Zero interest payment plans are available with a 40% down payment.  I also accept PayPal.
